Bearing the four interlocked rings, Audi are one of the Big Three manufacturers in Germany. Audi are the pioneers of the all-wheel drive Quattro system made famous by the Audi Quattro which dominated the WRC in the Group B era being the first rally car to use 4WD. Quattro has also proved successful in other racing disciplines such as touring cars and Le Mans. Audi mainly produce luxury saloons such as the A8 and the A6 but hatchbacks (A3) and coupes (TT) are also to be seen in the current line-up. In 2006, Audi introduced the R8 – the supercar of the lineup and has proved successful in motorsport.
